Dear Dream Experts,
I was at a school and was supposed to teach a class. This ugly and strange looking guy asked me to interpret his dream. I said okay. He spoke low and I had trouble understanding him. So he said, “Okay, I will act out the dream for you.” Next, the guy goes up on a stage and acts out his dream. I tell him I got the gist and say, “No one has ever acted out a dream for me. The dream is about you wanting to create things, but you aren’t doing it right.” After the class I realized I needed to find a time sheet so I could write down the hours I taught for the class. I couldn’t find one. Then I found a machine that looked like a calculator and phone combined. I figured this was how I was supposed to enter my information. When I got outside, I realized I exited from a different door than I had come in and I couldn’t find my car. I was lost. I walked around and tried to call my husband, but the call didn’t go through. I realized it didn’t go through because I was using the machine for the time sheets.
Sincerely, Lost Teacher
Dear Lost Teacher,
You have knowledge that you are using in new parts of your life (teaching a class). An unappealing part of yourself (ugly guy) urges you to look deeper within (interpreting a dream). You have trouble receiving the message (trouble hearing). This part of yourself (ugly guy) helps you to understand the message. You realize the message has something to do with the way you use your creative energy. Something is not working for you. You want to gain value from your experiences (wanting to be paid for teaching the class), but you have difficulty receiving value (can’t find the time sheet). You feel disconnected from your body (not being able to find your car). You seek to connect with your inner self (husband) to become centered, but you have trouble making a connection (call doesn’t go through). It would benefit you to meditate and learn to quiet your mind so that you can hear and understand the messages from your subconscious mind.
Dear Dream Experts,
I dreamed that I was on vacation in a nice resort area with my husband. As we drove around, I thought that it was great there was no snow to slow us down. When we arrived, we went to a hotel that was on a beach. We checked in and were given a strange looking key to our room. The key did not work. When we returned to the front desk, the manager said that it was the only key and that if it didn’t work it meant that we were not supposed to stay there. We were angry and left. We walked on the beach to calm down. I decided to swim with my clothes on. I was still so angry that I didn’t see a big wave coming. When it hit me I felt like I was going to drown.
Sincerely, Nightmare Traveler
Dear Nightmare Traveler,
You are wanting to free yourself from current thoughts and attitudes (going on vacation). In this new place you feel less hindered by mental stagnation (no snow, easier travel). You want to be more in touch with your emotions (ocean). However, you are not able to make this new way of thinking a part of yourself (your room key does not work). This setback makes you angry. You want to get in touch with your emotions and become centered (walking on the beach). You delve into feeling your emotion (swimming in the ocean). You start to feel overwhelmed by your emotion (big wave). You feel that your anger could cause major changes in you (drowning). The key to making changes in your life begins with creating a clear image in your mind of what you want your life to be like.
